Patient Satisfaction Questionnaire Audit September 2018

The practice carries out an audit of patient satisfaction questionnaires every four months and below are the findings of this audit.

Random patients from each dentist were asked to complete the questionnaire and they are then audited to look at any areas we need to address to improve our services to our patients.

The audit showed very positive results again highlighting that standards we provide are being maintained and improved in some areas.

It also highlighted one area which we need to address and other areas which we had addressed on previous audits that had improved but which we still needed to address to maintain or improve standards in these areas.

Some comments were made on the completed audits. The comments were:


“Very happy with dentist and treatment”

“Mrs Pilch is a very approachable dentist and nothing is too much trouble and she goes the extra mile to make her patients comfortable. Truly an asset to this practice”

“Excellent provision”

“Excellent service. Good information providers. Friendly and efficient”

“Nothing wrong with my dental practice”

The percentage of patients who completed the questionnaire who said they were given advice about their oral health had risen from 74% to 76% on this audit. We will discuss this in our next staff meeting and reiterate the need to ensure all patients are given oral health advice within their examination appointment. We will monitor this on our next audit to make sure this percentage does not fall but hopefully continues to rise.

The percentage of patients who said they would know who to contact if they had a dental emergency outside normal surgery hours has dropped significantly on this audit to 36% form 63% on the previous audit. The contact details for this information is displayed in both our waiting rooms, in the front window of the practice, in our practice leaflet, on our website and on our answerphone.

We will discuss this in our next staff meeting to look at whether we need to display these details more prominently or look at any other options we may need to introduce to try and make sure all patients are aware of these contact details.
