Patient Satisfaction Questionnaire Audit September 2019

The practice carries out an audit of patient satisfaction questionnaires and below are the findings of this audit.

Random patients from each dentist were asked to complete the questionnaire and they are then audited to look at areas we need to address to improve our services to our patients.

The audit again showed very positive results highlighting that standards we provide for our patients are being maintained and improved in some areas.

It also showed improved or maintained percentages in some areas which we had addressed on previous audits.

There was only one comment left on the completed questionnaires. The comment was:

Excellent treatment couldn’t be better.

The percentage of patients who completed the questionnaire who said they had been given advice about caring for their oral health had risen to 79% on this audit from 54% on the previous audit. We will discuss this in our next staff meeting to make sure all dentists give their patients oral health advice at their examination appointments to ensure we maintain or improve this percentage on the next audit.

On this audit there was a higher percentage of patients who completed the questionnaire who would know who to contact if they had a dental emergency outside normal surgery hours. We have recently updated this information and the relevant contact details are displayed in both waiting rooms, in our practice leaflet, in the front window of the practice, on our answerphone and on our website for patients to access if needed.

I would like to thank all the patients who took the time to complete the questionnaires for us to help audit the services we provide our patients. This enables us to look at whether standards are being maintained and also whether we need to address any areas of our service to improve the standards we provide to our patients.
